Garang Makak Bol, Minister of Finance and Public Service in South Sudan’s Aweil State on Tuesday presented his policy statement and a new bill for the Aweil State Revenue Authority before members of the state assembly.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Minister Garang Majak said that he was summoned by lawmakers to present a new bill for the State Revenue Authority and policy statement of the finance ministry.

“I came to the parliament to present the policy statement of the ministry, and also to introduce the new bill of the state revenue authority,” he said.

” In 2010, we established it under the defunct Northern Bahr al Ghazal State Revenue Authority, and since the state is divided into three states, of course that revenue authority has to be amended,” he added.

For his part, Santino Mayuat, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee for Public Accounts, said that the assembly adopted the two documents presented by the finance minister and that they were referred to specialized committees.

“Today actually it is a very nice day because the old bill of the Northern Bahr al Ghazal Revenue Authority has been amended,” said Mayuat.
