The Minister of Information for Aweil East State Ayuel Yai Deng has disputed a report that SPLA-IO troops clashed with government troops in any part of the state.

Yesterday the spokesman of an armed group led by Agany Abdelbagai Ayii Akol alleged that his forces killed three government soldiers and captured five others in what he said was an attack by government soldiers on their positions on Wednesday. 

Ayuel responded to the claim saying, “I want to assure the general public that the security situation in our state is hundred percent and there is nothing like attack happened in the territory of our state as claimed by rebel group.” 

"It is completely untrue and rubbish claim made by armed men,” he added in an interview on Friday evening.

Yai called on citizens of his state not to panic about this negative claim by armed men but instead they should go about their normal businesses.
