Aweil East governor sacks political adviser, appoints new officials

The governor of Aweil East State Deng Deng Akuei has issued several orders relieving and appointing new officials in the state.

Governor Deng, according to gubernatorial decrees broadcast by South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) on Thursday evening, removed James Jok Lual from his position as political adviser and replaced him with Alou Deng Ngong.

In another order, Deng Deng appointed Chan Mawien Dut as the new head of the employees’ justice chamber replacing Boma Makuac Mawien.

In separate orders, the governor appointed Awaya Awaya Makuei as minister of water resources and irrigation and Leek Malong Yor as advisor on peace and reconciliation.

Minister Awaya and adviser Leek represent the faction of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-In-Opposition (SPLM-IO ) led by Taban Deng Gai in the unity government.
