The governor of the proposed Aweil East State, Deng Deng Akuei, reshuffled his cabinet on Friday, less than five months after he formed his government.

The former Minister of Information William Ater Lual confirmed the new changes on Sunday, saying that the new ministers will take oath of office on Monday.

Lual was named both the Minister of Education and Minister of Health. Ayuel Yai Deng, the former Minister of Agriculture, was named the Minister of Information, and Garang Malong Awan who headed the education and health ministries, is now in charge of the agriculture and forestry department.

The governor also removed his adviser on peace Diing Aher Ngong and replaced him with Abraham Wol Kom.

Aweil East state was one of the 28 states created by President Kir in October, but some have rejected the decree.

Monitors of the peace agreement say the creation of 28 states is a violation of the peace agreement. Kiir says the 28 states are the demand of people.
