The Governor of Aweil East State, Deng Deng Akuei, has called for more cooperation between different arms of the state government, saying that all are working for the same objective to achieve the goal.

Governor Deng Deng told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the state parliament has been reopened after all lawmakers returned from recess with commitment to work together as one government.

“The members of parliament have returned from recess and I was in the parliament for opening.  It was an important occasion at which I stressed much on cooperation between institutions because our objective is the same, to serve people and to work for the good of our state,” he said.

“To achieve this objective requires cooperation. So, I called on members of parliament to use time, energy and resources to build confidence,” he added.

For his part, the speaker of the state parliament, Akoon Diing Angok, confirmed the reopening of the state parliament. He expressed hope that the reopening of the state assembly would be an opportunity to promote unity and build confidence between the executive and the legislature so that the community is sensitized on the significance of the national dialogue declared by President Kiir.
