Deng Deng Akuei, governor of the newly created Aweil East state has issued an executive order appointing county commissioners, ending months of step competition and lobbying among politicians seeking support and approval from communities and party officials in the area.  

Governor Deng, according to the order he issued on Monday but announced Tuesday, appointed Thiel Deng Thiel as the Wunlung county commissioner and Angac D. Angac for Malualbaai county. Angac is one of the longest serving presidential guards who was in the headquarters of President Salva Kiir when Kiir was rebel commander in the 1983-2005 civil war.

Other county commissioners include Garang Aguer as county commissioner for Warguet and Deng Deng Liel for Baac with headquarters at Rumbek. Garang Malong Yor is appointed Madhol commissioner.
