Aweil East government completes land information system

The government of Aweil East State in South Sudan has said that a land information system in the state capital Malualkon have been completed.

State governor Deng Deng Akuei announced this during a one day meeting with community leaders and officials from the state ministry of physical infrastructure this week.

“The land information system will help us to demarcate the land to our people and I hope now the processes of land demarcation will soon begin,” Deng explained.

Meanwhile, a resident of Gok Deng, an area set aside for returnees who came from Sudan in 2014, has confirmed officials are now marking blocks between Wanyjok and Malualkon.

He said that he was told that only people with their birth certificates or national identities will be eligible to obtain land.
