Two newly appointed officials in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on Tuesday took the oath of office in the presence of Governor Tong Akeen Ngor and entire his government at a colorful ceremony at the state Council of Ministers building.

Two newly appointed officials in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State on Tuesday took the oath of office in the presence of Governor Tong Akeen Ngor and entire his government at a colorful ceremony at the state Council of Ministers building.

On 23 March, President Salva Kiir relieved Diing Aher Ngong as the Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries and Tourism (SPLM), and Kerubino Tiep Tong, Aweil East County commissioner (SPLM) and swapped their positions with Diing Aher Ngong becoming the Aweil East County Commissioner and Kerubino Tiep Tong the Minister for Animal Resources Fisheries and Tourism.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal State Information Minister Garang Zachariah Lual while speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday morning, confirmed that the swapped government officials took the oath of office in the presence of the government and communities of the state.  

“What is happening today (Tuesday) is the swearing-in ceremony of the two government officials; the Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries and the Aweil East County Commissioner,” he stated.

Some of the residents who turned up to witness the occasion said they were happy about the assignments given to the two officials.

Deng Marun, a troupe member who performed at the function, said he turned up to show respect and welcome the officials.

“We are celebrating the appointment of the Aweil East County Commissioner Diing Aher Ngong who invited our Raingmal Traditional Group to participate in welcoming him and to witness his swearing-in ceremony, and we are so happy and thank everybody who took part in this event,” he said.
