Dut Diing Akol, leader of the Ajuet Mawein Diing community in South Sudan’s Aweil state has appealed to the national government to allow General Paul Malong Awan to visit his home region of Aweil.

South Sudan’s former army chief General Paul Malong Awan is being confined to his home in Juba for security reasons. He was sacked in May by President Kiir after resignations by senior military officials.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the community leader appreciated the national government in Juba, saying the government is working tirelessly to finalize the issue of Paul Malong.

He pointed out that the national dialogue is the only forum to forget all differences for the sake of peace and stability in the country.
