Many citizens in Northern Bahr al Ghazal said they are unhappy about President Kiir’s decision removing Paul Malong Awan from his position as SPLA chief of general staff on Tuesday.

Malong, who hails from Northern Bahr al Ghazal, has been replaced by Gen. James Ajongo Mawut.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday, several local residents in Aweil town expressed their discontent about the removal of Paul Malong from his position by President Kiir.

They urged the national government to allow Paul Malong to go to his hometown in Aweil.
