Aweil central prison receives one month food supplies after shortage

Northern Bahr El Ghazal central prison has received one month food and non-food items after the national prison administration hired another new contractor known as War Perdit Company Limited to supply the prison with food.

Last month the director of the prison told Radio Tamazuj that 519 inmates in the three prisons of Aweil central, Malek Alel and Arroyo faced lack of food after a supplier ceased to supply food since July.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj today, Major General Autiak Kuac Kuac, the director of Aweil Central prison confirmed that the prison has received food yesterday.

“Yes, we have received food supplied from the new contractor called War Perdit. It supplied us with sorghum, oil, beans, lentils and sugar. But these foods will last for one month after which the contractor will be given contract for a year,” said Autiak.

Kuac appreciated the national prison administration for responding on time and urged the new contractor to be supplying food before the stocks run low.
