A Catholic priest in South Sudan’s Aweil State has called on warring parties to join President Kiir’s national dialogue initiative to resolve any differences and rescue the people of South Sudan from the hardships that the war has caused.
Fr. Paul Ariath Mawein, the parish priest of St. George Catholic Church in Aweil, told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that he welcomed the national dialogue as the way to end the current conflict in the country.
Ariath stressed that any differences between the parties can only be solved through talks and not arms. He suggested that all parties that have not accepted the national dialogue initiative should be persuaded to participate in the process.
