Aweil assists its Muslims during Ramadan

The government of Northern Bahr el Ghazal state donated five thousands South Sudanese pounds (5,000 SSP) to Muslims fasting in the state capital Aweil on Monday.

One of Muslim sheikhs, Deng Kuek Kuol, told Radio Tamazuj that Muslims have had no problem since the beginning of Ramadan because the state government is standing with them.

He also revealed that they were given five thousand South Sudanese pounds for them to use for the night-time meals during the month of Ramadan.

However, a Muslim woman name Pardose complained saying that the food items at the markets are expensive during these days of Ramadan compared to the past.

“Despite these difficulties we are facing, we must continue fasting,” she said.

Pardose asked her state government to extend its support to different counties within Northern Bahr el Ghazal state.
