Authorities in Yei River County said they have recovered 35 stolen cattle from a suspected cattle raider in Pakula Payam on Monday.

Authorities in Yei River County said they have recovered 35 stolen cattle from a suspected cattle raider in Pakula Payam on Monday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, Yei River County commissioner Denis Lasuba said the cows were recovered by security agents in the county, while calling on local residents to cooperate with his office and the security by providing information.

“I want to pass the same message to our soldiers outside there not to take civilians’ properties like cows, goats and others belongings. So, if you come across these items, report it the government and heads of your units, I want you to continue with the good job,” said Lasuba.

For his part, Denesio Lumaya, the owner of the cattle, thanked the local authorities for recovering some of his cows from the cattle raider. “I have no problem, but some of my cows are still missing. The armed men raided my cattle by force,” he said.
