Jonglei State authorities have managed to rescue three children who had been abducted by gunmen in Baidit.
The newly appointed governor Philip Aguer told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the three children were abducted by gunmen on Tuesday at day time.
“Yesterday three children who were abducted have been rescued by the police in Baidit area,” Aguer said. He pointed out that the authorities managed to rescue the children without any casualties.
The culprits have not been arrested. The governor accused criminal groups from the neighboring Boma State for abducting the children and the continued looting of cattle in the state.
