Authorities arrest SPLA soldier for suspected revenge killing in Rumbek Centre

Security personnel have arrested an SPLA soldier for allegedly killing a man last week during inter-clan clashes, according to the Lakes State Security Advisor Marial Amum.

The top security official told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the SPLA soldier was suspected of killing the father of a youth who himself had allegedly killed the soldier's son at Panawec some months ago. The soldier is from the Kokawec section and the victim from the Aliap section.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Rumbek East County, two people were reported to have been killed in a cattle camp owing also to revenge.

Marial said, however, that the security situation across the state was calm with the exception of the two reported incidents.
