Ibrahim Hassan Rudwan, Auditor General in Sudan’s South Darfur, has revealed seven cases of embezzlement of public funds in the state and presented a report on the matter to the state legislative assembly on Monday.
Rudwan pointed out that legal action has been taking in two out of the seven cases.
He revealed that the money that was stolen and recovered amounted to 60.563 SDG which is 13% of the 480.652 embezzled funds in South Darfur state between 2014-2015.
Rudwan said there are some negative practices in some localities that waste public money in the state. The Auditor General added that certain items have been costing a lot of money like subsistence and petty cash for the commissioners among other things.
