The Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki Mahamat, is scheduled to visit South Sudan’s capital, Juba on a two-day official visit from 26 to 27 March.

According to a press invitation extended to Radio Tamazuj, Moussa will be accompanied by Amb. Smail Chergui, Commission of Peace and Security,and Cessouma Minata Samate, Commissioner for Political Affairs.

 It is the chairperson's first visit to South Sudan since his assumption of office in March 2017.

Chad's Moussa Faki was elected as the new chairperson of the African Union Commission, in a vote held at the bloc's headquarters in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, in January this year.
