Attack on SAF base in Farashaya village, South Kordofan

An armed group attacked a military base for Sudan’s Armed Force (SAF) in Farashaya village of Sudan’s South Kordofan state on Saturday.

Local sources told Radio Tamazuj the attack happened in the day time when the armed group seized a number of weapons and vehicles after the army fled.

The sources suggested that the armed group that attacked the village could have been the SPLM-North rebels.

Separately, citizens in Marta town of Kadugli in South Kordofan state told Radio Tamazuj that the Rapid Support Force (RSF) that arrived in the area last week have continued sporadic shooting in the area which created a fear and panic among the citizens.

They said representatives from the residential areas have met the commissioner of Kadugli locality to complain about the incidents.

They said the commissioner promised to discuss the issue in the state security committee meetings.
