Atlabara FC win South Sudan football championship

Atlabara FC won the 3rd South Sudan Football Association Championship after defeating Gazala Wau FC 3-1 at Juba Stadium on Thursday.

Atlabara FC won the 3rd South Sudan Football Association Championship after defeating Gazala Wau FC 3-1 at Juba Stadium on Thursday.

Atlabara FC player Peter Osman scored two goals and Khamis scored one goal, while the only goal for Gazala Wau FC was scored by Natalie Michael.

This match was supposed to have been played on Wednesday, but as a result of a problem in air traffic between Juba and Wau it was not played until Thursday, after the arrival of Gazala Wau FC to Juba at 2:00 on Thursday and the match played at 4:30 on the same day.

The winner of the South Sudan Football League will qualify for the African CAF Champions League and will face ZESCO United FC from Zambia.

The first championship of the South Sudanese premier league was won by Atlabara FC in 2013, the second by Malakia FC in 2014.
