At least seven civilians were killed and four wounded in an ambush on a passenger bus travelling between Koch and Bentiu in South Sudan’s Unity state on Sunday afternoon.

Security adviser for the proposed Northern Liech state John Malok told Radio Tamazuj that three passengers are still missing after the incident.

Malok accused the opposition forces led by Riek Machar of being behind this incident. Radio Tamazuj was unable to contact the opposition for comment.

Another source in Koch, however, a civilian, said that the number of casualties was higher than seven, saying he participated in the burial of eleven people.
