Arkangelo Uchu Dechak, Commissioner of Arroyo County in South Sudan’s Aweil State, said his county had received a shipment of medicines enough for three months from the National Ministry of Health in Juba over the past two weeks.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the county commissioner said:”The good news is that we have received medicines from the national government which is the only good thing for us”.
The county official said the medicines are being distributed to different health units within the county, while complaining about lack of services in the area.””There are no enough health centres, education centres and water points especially in the new and old payams of my county,” he added.
Uchu pointed out that the issue of river blindness in Chel South Payam remains his government’s concern. He blamed the relevant authorities in the state and health NGOs for failing to control the disease in the area.
