Brigadier General Santo Domic Chol will no longer be South Sudan army's deputy spokesperson, the military announced on Friday.

Major General Lul Ruai Koang, South Sudan’s military spokesman, told Radio Tamazuj that Santo Domic has been transferred to the office of the army chief.

“I want to announce that Santo Domic has been given a new assignment. He has officially been appointed as a director at the office of the chief of defense forces,” he said.

It is unclear who will take over Domic’s position as deputy spokesperson.

“The military leadership will soon appoint a new deputy spokesperson. If a new person is appointed, he or she will be in charge of the Arabic department,” said Lul.

“We worked together with Santo for three years. It is good that he been promoted to work as a director at the office of the chief of defense forces,” he added.

Santo Domic was appointed as the army's deputy spokesman in May 2016.
