The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby left Sudan on Tuesday after a three-day visit during which he inaugurated the Anglican Church and met key government officials.

In a press statement, Sudan’s Minister of Guidance and Endowments, Abubakar Osman, commended Welby’s to Sudan. He pointed out that the religious leader acquainted with peaceful religious co-existence in Sudan that characterized by tolerance.

He pointed out that the Archbishop of Canterbury held meetings with President Omar al-Bashir, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour, Minister of Guidance and Endowments and Governor of Khartoum State.
