Peter Munde Yacob, the Anglican Archbishop of South Sudan’s Western Equatoria Internal Province, died on Saturday in Nairobi following an illness.
Archbishop Peter was installed as the Archbishop of the Internal Province of Western Equatoria in December 2016. He was also the Dean of the Province of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan.
Peter was ordained a deacon in 1984 and a priest the following year.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the Secretary-General of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan, John Augustino Lumori said the church was saddened to hear of the death of a faithful servant of God.
He further said he was deeply saddened by Peter’s death. Lumori pointed out that funeral arrangements are yet to be finalized.
