Analysts warn of strained relations between Sudan and South Sudan

Sudanese academics speaking at a recent symposium have warned strained relations between Sudan and South Sudan and recommended to normalize relations in order to avoid a possible war.

This came in a symposium entitled “Sudan-South Sudan Relations, Current Situation and Future Prospects,” organized by Bahri University in collaboration with Sudanese Political Science Society.

Political science experts said there are still military and political tensions between Sudan and South Sudan due to unresolved outstanding issues between the two countries.

They pointed out that the current situation between the two Sudans may explode at any time if precautionary measures are not put in place. They added the cooperation between the two countries could resolve the outstanding issues.
