Sudan’s Blue Nile state government ordered the release of sixteen inmates from the Roseries Prison on financial bail to mark the end of the Ramadan fast.
In an address to prisoners, Blue Nile state governor Hussein Yassin urged the released inmates to take advantage of the lessons of the past and get involved in the community to contribute toward development.
The selection of the released inmates was done according to strict criteria, the social welfare minister state.
Roseries Prison’s Director welcomed the release of the prisoners saying the purpose of punishment was not revenge but rehabilitation.
The Zakat office posted their bail.
