Margret Fouziya, the parliamentary speaker of South Sudan’s Amadi State, urged the ministry of education to enhance skills of girls to become teachers.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Margret said the education sector at the national and state levels should empower women to equip them with skills for key positions in teaching.
She pointed out that there are many girls who completed high school in the state, but did not go to universities due to financial constraints.
Margret urged the education sector to pay incentives to teachers to enable them to continue to teach, saying this will improve standards of teaching and encourage girls to join the profession.
