General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, the Commander-in-Chief of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), reiterated his repudiation of engagement in any negotiations that undermines the dignity of the armed forces or fails to meet the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
While addressing his troops, Al-Burhan reaffirmed his stance against negotiating with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) who have been fighting with the SAF since 15 April 2023.
“We are committed to this battle until we achieve victory and that is all there is to it,” he asserted. “We will not negotiate with anyone who supports this enemy and stands with them.”
The Sudanese strongman emphasized that their current mission is to prepare and equip their forces with the necessary equipment for combat, emphasizing that continuous attempts to derail their efforts through negotiations will not deter SAF from their mission.
Al-Burhan cited that he is not opposed to negotiations in principle.
“We will not go to negotiations if we are forced into them and we will not negotiate while the enemy still occupies our homes and loots our wealth,” he declared.
