Al-Bashir slams SPLA-North and Darfur armed movements for fighting

Sudan’s president Omar al-Bashir on Monday slammed the SPLA-North and Darfuri rebel groups that are fighting the government in Darfur, Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.

Al-Bashir said recent victories of his forces in Jebel Marra area of Darfur is a clear message to those who fighting the government from hotels in Paris, referring to the meetings held by opposition leaders in France recently.

Al-Bashir also stated that the signing of an African Union roadmap to peace by the government sent a message to the entire world that they are for peace, not for war and fighting.

SPLA-N, Darfuri rebels, and the National Umma Party (NUP) refused to sign the roadmap for the national dialogue proposed by the African Union High Implementation Panel (AUHIP) led by former South Africa President Thabo Mbeki in March.

They said the roadmap was biased in favor of the government.
