Authorities in South Sudan’s Fashoda State have complained of “alarming” movements of troops loyal to NDM leader Lam Akol Ajawin.

Akurwa County Executive Director Benasio Kur Papiti told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that NDM forces had come from Hamra to Haluf area.

He claimed that the opposition troop movements caused fear and panic in the area. He accused the National Democratic Movement (NDM) of violating the signed peace agreement.

For his part, NDM’s security and intelligence chief James Puok denied the allegations that their forces had crossed to a government territory.

James reiterated their commitment to the signed peace agreement.
