A South Sudanese aid worker has been confirmed dead at an SPLA detention site in Juba, according to relatives and local sources.

A South Sudanese aid worker has been confirmed dead at an SPLA detention site in Juba, according to relatives and local sources.

The aid worker was arrested last week after leaving his house in Hai Mouna together with one of his relatives.

Both of them were going to have dinner at a nearby restaurant when a group of SPLA soldiers arrested them, and sent them to detention without trial.

They spent four days without food and water, the aid worker died after he was thrown into a container with no proper windows. The aid worker leaves behind a baby boy of five months.
