Agok Hospital in the contested area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan is facing shortages of basic supplies, according medical sources.
In an interview with Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday, Dr.Mayuen Machar said the health care center in Agok needs more beds, blankets, and mosquito nets.
He noted the hospital also needs some medical equipments and the other services, while the number of patients is steadily increasing.
“There is no support up till now, we need help from the organizations – the health facility lacks mosquito nets, bed and blankets for the patients,” he explained.
“The situation in general in terrible, there is nothing in our hands, but we try to do something with the meager resources we have in the hospital,” he added.
Relatives of the patients always complain when two patients share one bed, according to Machar.
The doctor appealed to aid groups to join efforts to improve the situation at the facility.
