Simon Majak Deng, Chairman of South Sudan’s African National Congress Party in the defunct Unity State which has been divided into Southern Liech, Northern Liech, and Ruweng States has decided to join the new government in Ruweng State.

Simon told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that his party agreed with the newly appointed governor of Ruweng State Theji D’ Aduot to open a new chapter with political parties in line with the signed peace agreement.

Simon congratulated the newly appointed governor and confirmed his party’s commitment to support him, saying they are ready to be part of the new government.

Majak accused the former governor Mayol Kur Akuei of excluding his party and that he decided to work with his supporters only for their personal gain.

The party leader called on the national government to have strong political will first and work to silence guns of war for the sake of development in the country. He also called on the newly appointed governor of Ruweng to improve relations with neighboring states.
