At least 10 people have been killed, including children, and 24 others wounded in an attack carried out by an aircraft of the Sudanese Air Force in Korongo Abdalla area in Kadugli locality, South Kordofan, on Thursday.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Yasin Abdullah, who was at the scene, said the Sudanese Air Force launched an attack which lasted for five hours on Kornogo area in the morning. 10 civilians were killed on the spot, including three children. The air raid also killed more than 70 head of cattle and numerous houses burned to ashes.

He noted that the wounded people have not been treated due to a shortage of medical facilities in the area, while many villagers fled to El Khairan and Karakir areas for their safety.

The incident caused panic and fear among the citizens, Abdullah explained. He called on the Red Cross as well as the other humanitarian organisations operating in the area to intervene and save the lives of the innocent citizens.
