An activist and member of the Bodies of Peace Organization in North Darfur State has said her group is interested and working to ensure there is peace and peaceful coexistence, especially in the troubled areas and conflict zones in the Darfur region.

An activist and member of the Bodies of Peace Organization in North Darfur State has said her group is working to ensure there is peace and peaceful coexistence, especially in the troubled areas and conflict zones in the Darfur region.

Israa Mohammed Nour told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that they are carrying out peace advocacy and dialogue sessions with women about peaceful coexistence and rejecting hatred.

She highlighted the important role of women in resolving conflicts and stressed the need for psychological support for women, safety guidelines for girls, and reproductive health for women.

The activist revealed several challenges facing the group, most notably the lack of donors in the region to fund the implementation of activities related to feminist issues.

She explained that overcoming the challenges requires supporting women and activists in the state by volunteering to implement some activities on various issues related to women and fighting all kinds of violence against women and girls.

Bodies of Peace is a North Darfur feminist body founded in 2019 to achieve gender equality, promote peaceful coexistence, reject hatred, eliminate all types of violence against women and girls, and focus on building peace, especially in conflict areas.
