South Sudanese controversial businesswoman and Executive Director for the Achai Wiir Foundation, Achai Awet Alor, popularly known as Achai Wiir, on Wednesday donated 98 tricycles to persons with disabilities in Aweil town of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Wednesday, the Secretary-General for the Aweil Disabled Union Abraham Thuou said they received assorted support packages from the Achai Wiir Foundation.
“As disabled persons, we are happy indeed because Achai Wiir has supported us so much. We weren’t able to reach far places but now we will go anywhere we want to go,” said Thuou.
He added that Achai also distributed food packages to the deaf and blind groups in Aweil.
“She told us frankly that her support was going to only the disabled people, but she has sympathized with the blind and deaf persons and she is now distributing wheat flour and sugar to them,” Thuou added.
Kiir Yum, a member of the disabled group, said: “I don’t have enough words to express my appreciation to Achai Wiir, but God will provide all that she needs.”
