Farm yields in the contested Abyei area between Sudan and South Sudan are better than last season, a local official told Radio Tamazuj. 

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Atem Nyok said the department of agricultural extension service conducted a survey and found that this season was successful with 75 percent of farms having a successful harvest. 

“The agriculture in the area is good and this season was successful,” Nyok said, but added that there are some farms that have been destroyed by the rain and floods,”
