The Abyei chamber of Commerce is urging the entire community to wisely manage their sorghum product, asserting that lack of wise management of the sorghum results in the shortage.
Deng Chol Deng, according to the Abyei Today newsletter, commended the support the institution received from the Abyei administration, saying they are happy to see last year’s cooperation with Abyei administration for strategic holdings had been successful.
Three hundred bags of sorghum, according to the release quoting him as talking about the success, were sold between July and August to the public at 120ssp for a malou. The newsletter further quoted Deng saying they are planning to widen the initiative this time to include other important food and none food items like sugar, wheat flour, cooking oil, tea leaves, peanuts, soap and fuel. He invites everyone to contribute in kind or money returnable in cash. The official hinted that the process would begin between December this year and February 2017
