Abyei Administrator reshuffles cabinet, commissioners

The chief administrator of the disputed Abyei region Kuol Alor Kuol has issued decrees removing and replacing members of his cabinet, advisors, and commissioners.

The chief administrator of the disputed Abyei region Kuol Alor Kuol has issued decrees removing and replacing members of his cabinet, advisors, and commissioners.

In the decrees made public on Friday, Alor appointed the former education minister Dr. Musa Mangok Mayoum as minister of physical infrastructure and public utilities. Chol Pur Chol replaces Mangok as minister of education, information, culture, youth, and sport.

In another decree, Alor appointed Kuol Agok Den as an advisor for political affairs, Abdal Karim Manyiel as an advisor for peace and Aluel Manyiel Rou as an advisor for gender and social welfare. The new advisors replace Chol Changath Chol, Deng Bol Athuai and Mary Goch Deng respectively.

Separately, the former deputy mayor of Abyei City Council Chol Adhol Manyjok was appointed the commissioner of Mijak County, Akuei Akon Wel commissioner of Alal and Nyok Deng Rou as commissioner of Ameth Agwok, replacing Guiny Ayuong Aar, Aguar Ajak Aguar, and Ring Mawien Nyikwac respectively.

Kuol further dismissed the secretary-general for peace and reconciliation Nyok Deng Rou. No replacement was made

The decrees did not give any reasons for the changes.
