Abyei administrator appoints new cabinet and county officials

The Head of Abyei Administrative Area in South Sudan Chol Deng Alak issued a decree appointing six state cabinet ministers, after dissolving the entire government and removing county commissioners.

The Head of Abyei Administrative Area in South Sudan Chol Deng Alak issued a decree appointing six state cabinet ministers, after dissolving the entire government and removing county commissioners.

Alak, in a series of decrees, made the following appointments:

· Nyong Deng Rau, Mayor of Abyei Municipal Council

· Mary Goch, Adviser to the Head of the Administration

· Chan Apiok, County Commissioner of Rumamer County

· Chol Adol, County Commissioner of Majak

· Deng Bol Athuai, Deputy Head of Abyei Administration & Minister of Local Government

· Malual Mayong Rau, County Commissioner of Minaguok

· Brigadier Kelak, County Commissioner of Alal

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Alor Dor El Beit, an Abyei official said all the newly appointed cabinet ministers, commissioners and advisors were sworn in yesterday evening. He disclosed that the chief administrator also appointed two advisers including a woman.

The official pointed out that what happened was a normal change in the government.
