Authorities in Abyei area have issued a decision suspending the activities of the Abyei Information and Radio Service (AIRS) in the area.

Authorities in Abyei area have issued a decision suspending the activities of the Abyei Information and Radio Service (AIRS) in the area.

AIRS sponsors Abyei Today and Abyei This Weekend programs as well as the Abyei Today newsletter.

Abyei’s information and education minister, Musa Magok, who ordered the media department to suspend its activities, said AIRS should seek an operational certificate from the National Ministry of Information and Communications in Juba.

AIRS is a non-profit South Sudanese organization registered in March 2017 under registration number 596 with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC).
