Abducted children in Budi County should be returned, MP says

A top official in Eastern Equitoria has called on the authorities in Budi County to recover children that were abducted last month.

20 children were taken in clashes between Toposa and Didinga tribes in Eastern Equitoria that killed 26 people and destroyed dozens of homes. The incident followed a previous cattle raid that killed 13.

Seven of the children have been recovered, Abdalla Angelo Lokilu, a member of Namurnyang state legislative assembly in Eastern Equatoria told Radio Tamazuj, but 13 are still missing. It is unknown if the children are still alive.

Lokilu also said there are plans to conduct a conference between the communities next week. He also criticized politicians who he said were sowing discord among the citizens, and called on them to work together for peace and security in the area.
