Mohamed Ibrahim Abba, Director of Agriculture in Abbasiya Tegeli locality in South Kordofan state says this year’s farming season has been successful.
In a press statement, the official pointed out that they cultivated about 750,000 acres of sorghum and sesame crops this season.
Abbas further said an area estimated at 400,000 acres was included in the plan, while 350,000 acres was unplanned.
He added this year’s productivity of sorghum and sesame crops has reached three million and 750,000 sacks.
A quintal of sesame costs 500 SDG, while as a sack of sorghum is for 160 SDG, according to the top employee. Ibrahim confirmed that this season is one of the most successful agricultural seasons in the locality.
