Police authorities in Abassiya locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan State have arrested nine members of the Popular Defense Force for allegedly killing seven civilians at Al-Sanadra village last year, a police source said.

Police authorities in Abassiya locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan State have arrested nine members of the Popular Defense Force for allegedly killing seven civilians at Al-Sanadra village last year, a police source said.

A relative to one of the victims said a court hearing held last Wednesday was adjourned until 7 June. He further said the court ordered the arrest of the remaining eight suspects who are still at large.

He pointed out that that more suspects were arrested on Wednesday last week, but he did not mention how many they were.

“Up to now, nine suspects were arrested and they were brought to the court. But the court has asked that the rest be arrested and brought before the court,” he said.
