Over 9,000 South Sudanese citizens who fled clashes in Busalia and Wau areas in Western Bahr el Ghazal are in dire humanitarian condition due to lack of food.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Thursday, Commissioner of Jur River county, Karlo Angon said displaced people have not received any assistance, calling on aid groups to intervene.

“The displaced people did not receive any assistance. UN agencies have visited them and assisted their situation but did not provide them with any assistance,” said Karlo.

Separately, Commissioner Karlo revealed that one person was killed and another injured in an ambush by SPLM force in Mapel area last week.

He said the two men were suspected to be part of criminal group of five who crossed from Warrap with a land cruiser pick up to attack traders coming from Juba.

He added that one person was also arrested and the car and guns were seized by the government force.
