8000 S. Sudanese refugees in South Kordofan face hunger

Over 8,000 South Sudanese refugees living in Abu Jubeiha and Tadamoun Localities in Sudan’s South Kordofan state report acute shortages of food and medicines.

Local authorities refuse to open the camps to accommodate the refugees, saying they would be treated as Sudanese nationals.

Several families at the outskirts of Tadamoun and Abu Jabeiha towns told Radio Tamazuj Wednesday that they were experiencing lack of basic services and food.

“Very many refugees here have resorted to manual works so as to sustain the live of their families,” one refugee said.

The refugees called on relief organizations to provide them with food before the humanitarian situation deteriorates further.
