The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Northern Bahr el Ghazal state is urging members and citizens of the country not to take part in war and tribal conflicts but rather to unite for peace and development.
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian denomination that normally worships on Saturdays rather than Sundays.
Deng Akoon, a church member and former Global Mission worker for the church, says that the current conflict in South Sudan would be resolved if all South Sudanese citizens give room to God in their hearts to clean terrible thoughts in hearts of the people of South Sudan.
“I am calling upon all people of the Republic of South Sudan to love each other, and also to remain united in peace so that our citizens will support in the development of our Nation. South Sudan is facing a lot of challenges, I am appealing to the Lord to bring peace to our country. I am also eager to promote our believers and citizens of our country to love each other and denounce hatred and disputes,” he said.
He warned believers not to take part in conflicts especially political and tribal matters but to work against them by calling for a spirit of unity, love and progress for the people of South Sudan in general and Northern Bahr el Ghazal in particular.
