A total of 75 civil servants have been dismissed after a probe revealed that they used forged documents to secure their positions in Sudan’s West Kordofan State.
A senior government official who preferred anonymity told Radio Tamazuj that an administrative reform committee said about 75 employees were found to have forged documents during screening.
He pointed out that the committee checked about 10,400 high school certificates and degrees, saying the committee identified 70 fake secondary school certificates and 8 university degrees.
The official revealed that about three forgery cases are being looked into by the judiciary, saying there are many cases of forged birth certificates.
Another senior civil servant said Sudan’s public service law provides for persecution and dismissal of whoever involved in such a crime. He added that the decision to dismiss the 75 civil servants bypassed some legal procedures.
He explained that the relevant authorities sympathized with the dismissed employees so they could receive their benefits from the government.
