70 new recruits for Raja County police

Raja County Commissioner James Benjamin announced officials have recently recruited about 70 educated youth into the South Sudan Police Service in an effort to improve the security situation in the area.

Benjamin said all of the recruits have graduated from secondary school.

The new recruits should shore up the county’s police service, which numbered 400 before the recent drive. The new inductees will be tasked with keeping order in the county.

The recruitment drive is part of the national government’s decision to recruit 250 additional security forces in Western Bahr el Ghazal state.
